My wonderful trip to Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Village
After the 6-month Japanese training course for all the international students who come to study in Japan this year, at the Educational Center for International Students (ECIS), of Nagoya University we all have completed successfully. During the 6-month course, it is really fast and very intensive that we have piles of handouts, homework, and quiz everyday, in addition to presentation and interview activities every day. As the souvenir for the international students and the Japanese teachers during that summer holiday, ECIS prepared the wonderful journey to visit Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village, which is about 1 hour and 40 minutes by bus from Nagoya city area. The main tourist spot we visited was Gassho-zukuri village recognized as World Heritage. To its background, [Gassho-zukuri Village in Shirakawa-go and Gokayama], were listed as sites of The World Heritage at the 19th UNESCO board held in Berlin, Germany on December, 1995, under Japan’s requests. It is the 6th World Heritage in Japan after Himeji Castle and Shirakami Mountains, and there preservation over hundreds of years has been recognized worldwide. It will be preserved as a Heritage shared by the human race.
